Shaykh Abu Muhammad al-Madani

Shaykh Abu Muhammad al-Madani (may God sanctify his innermost being), the thirty seventh Shaykh in the Naqshbandi Golden Chain, said the following:-

Turkey was involved in the Balkan war. Once Shaykh Abu Muhammad al-Madani’s neighbour, Hasan Muhammad Effendi, came to him and said, “I want to go to fight in the war and die as a martyr”. The Shaykh replied, “There is no need to for you to go outside the village to become a martyr. You are going to be a martyr here.”
Later the armies of the Greeks and Serbs approached, shooting into the village. In one of these attacks, Hasan Muhammad Effendi was shot and killed. He died as a martyr, as he had wished, in the way the Shaykh had predicted.
