With Love

“Whoever looks at his brother with love, no animosity will exist in his heart.”

– The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.

God is the Wisest of Judges (Ahkam al-hakimin). This is a description, but in reality no comparison is possible between God and another judge. He alone is the ultimate Judge and His essence is beyond any attribute or description.

Whatever He decides is the best; and thus you must accept whatever He plans for you. Accept, submit and surrender to His Will and Judgement. Whatever your brother or sister possesses, God planned and gave it to him or her. If you develop animosity because of that, it means you are not happy with your Lord and are opposing His Wishes. When God wants something to happen – if He wants a person to be rich, to be kind, to be beautiful, to be handsome, to be generous – you cannot challenge His Will. You cannot have animosity for that person’s gifts, for it will take you into a state of unbelief.

Many people do not realise that they have this trait. Look at yourself and be truthful. Are you not thinking, “why is my boss pressuring me? He is not better than me. He’s stupid; he doesn’t know anything”, or something of that sort. You must not say such things, for a believer must surrender to God’s Will.”
