Born in Australia, Shaykh Zainuddin has been appointed by Mawlana Shaykh Hisham as a Representative of the Naqshbandiyya Nazimiyya Sufi Order, to lead Sufi Chanting (Dhikr) in Australia and other places.

He has studied under Shaykh Hisham for many years and has travelled extensively with Shaykh Hisham throughout the United Kingdom, India, Indonesia, USA and Australia.

Shaykh Zainuddin’s introduction to Sufism was when he met the Naqshbandi Sufi Master, Shaykh Abdullah Sirr Dan al-Jamal in London, in 1980. He became his student then and remained so for twenty years, whilst living in the United Kingdom and Australia, until Shaykh Abdullah passed away. Shaykh Abdullah introduced him to the Naqshbandi Master, Shaykh Muhammad Rashid Erol in Adiyaman, Turkey, from whom he took allegiance (bayat).

Shaykh Zainuddin would sit in the company of Shaykh Nazim when he visited Shaykh Abdullah in London, during Ramadan in the early 1980’s. He also prayed the Tariweeh prayers behind Shaykh Nazim during these times.

Consequently, Shaykh Zainuddin has been studying under the Shaykhs of the Golden Chain for thirty eight years.

Shaykh Zainuddin has also had association with and attended the talks of Shaykh Muzaffer Ozak al-Jerrahi (the Turkish Helveti-Jerrahi Shaykh), Shaykh Mahmoud Effendi (the Turkish Naqshbandi Shaykh) and Shaykh Muhammad Aslam (the Pakistani Naqshbandi Shaykh).

Shaykh Zainuddin is married to Amina, who has been travelling on the Sufi Path for many years.
