The Golden Chain
Leave your ego and come to Me
Khwaja Muhammad Bahauddin Shah Naqshband (may God sanctify his innermost being), the seventeenth Shaykh in the Naqshbandi Golden Chain and at the same time, the eighth Khwaja of the ‘Khwajagan’ – the Masters of Wisdom of Central Asia, said the following about travelling on the Path:-
“What is behind the meaning of the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) narration, ‘Part of faith is to remove what is harmful from the Way’, is that what is meant by ‘harmful’ is the ego, and what he meant by ‘the Way’ is the Way of God.
As God said to Bayazid al-Bistami, ‘Leave your ego and come to Me.”
