The Heart like a Mountain
Khwaja Arif ar-Rivgari (may God sanctify his innermost being), the twelfth Shaykh in the Naqshbandi Golden Chain and the third of the ‘Khwajagan’ – the Masters of Wisdom of Central Asia, said,
“There are three kinds of hearts: the heart like a mountain, which nothing can move; the heart like a palm tree, its roots firm but its branches in motion; and the heart like a feather, which blows from right to left.”
